While some may have obvious reasons, other teens seem like a mystery and we have a hard time figuring out why some of them would drop out.

Not all students are equal, some simply have special needs and school becomes too hard for them. This includes children with emotional issues, behavioral problems, learning disabilities and other teen problems that may interfere with their school work and the ability to learn. But these are not the only reasons; some kids from certain cultural background simply fail to blend into a school where another ethnicity is dominant. There are also teens that come from homes which are not supportive enough and they lack the motivation to finish school.

Teens that drop out can be from both rich and poor families, but poor children with low economic standards and children of single parents have a higher risk of dropping out of high school. The rates of teens that drop out of schools depend on various factors. Teen boys are more likely to drop out of school than girls. Also Hispanic and African American teens are more likely to drop out than Asian American students and Caucasians. Students in large cities are also more likely to drop out than students from small towns and suburbs.

As you can see dropping out of school can happen because of learning issues and development or even because of social factors like ethnicity and family heritage. Some of the most common reasons that influence a teen to drop out of school include:

The reasons are plenty, and they can go from family issues and even history of abuse, drug related issues, mental problems to social issues, low standard, peer pressure, up to medical issues like poor health.

Some teens get pregnant so they drop out of school, some teens simply lost interest. One of the factors is the teacher’s attitude and behavior towards students. Most students that dropped out of school reported that they were either ignored and not given enough attention by their teachers or that they were actually encouraged by their teachers to drop out of school. We all know that a teacher can sometimes go after a student; the pressure can very well be the cause of dropping out.

Again, the reasons are plenty and as such it is hard to concentrate on prevention as various factors influence this outcome.

The reason why that is a fact is because parents have forgotten how to communicate with their children. As our kids are now part of the internet generation we were once a part of the MTV generation and we cause troubles for our parents, but they knew how to deal with us more or less, that bond and that knowledge seems to be disappearing.

Communicating with teens has always been a problem, but it’s something we must do in order to be apart of their lives and in order to help them when they need it. The first thing you need to do is learn how to talk to your teen child, that is if you forgot what it feels to sit down and have an honest conversation with your children. After that everything becomes easier to deal with, but the talking part can be sometimes incredibly difficult. That is if you let it get that way from the start, by connecting to your child from the early age you will have a chance to avoid that bridge when the teenager years come and the inevitable rebellion begins.
There are many different teen behavior patterns, some can be frightening, some can be alarming and some can be depressing, but with love and patience any parent can overcome them. Maybe I was wrong in saying that you first need to learn how to talk to your teen child, the first thing you need to do is listen to your child. That involves more than just taking some time to listen to what he or she has to say, you as a parent need to try and understand them and you also need to be aware of their social life, of their desires and their dreams. By knowing all that, by listening you will be able to talk to your child about those things and many other, that will give you the right tools to fight against many teenager behavior problems and other teen issues that might occur.
It is the parent’s responsibility to raise a child, the first step to dealing with your teenager is talking to him. So for those who forgot how it’s time to start learning the forgotten art of communication.

Teenagers who may be using drugs and alcohol, teens whose life has gotten out of control are what a troubled teen is all about. They are usually the teens who involved themselves in an activity that can ruin their lives or maybe ends it, without any hint from it. They usually join some gangs in school or outside school that later on they cannot get away from them. These teens usually break laws, rules and regulations by vandalizing walls, stealing things or abused other teens or people. These teens theoretically need help from a professional.

To help a troubled teen, immediate attention is what they need. If you see your child having this kind of behavior, it is a must that you seek professional advice and attention before the child gets out of control. Early treatment of this condition may put your child on the right track again.

One of the alternatives for the treatment of troubled teens is to enroll them to a school intended for this condition. These schools are usually a residential school full of psychiatric staff personnel to monitor each patient. The financial bill of this kind of school may or may not be covered by the insurances, so most of time the parents of the child usually pays from $1500 to $9000 per month depending on the facilities that each schools offer.

A Boarding school is one of the schools intended for troubled teens, teens that require observation, supervision and monitoring 24 hours in 7 days a week. This kind of school is more specifically intended for teens that use drugs, teenage that run away from home. It is also good for teens who are depressed, anger problems and low-self esteem problems experience by most of teens.

The other school for troubled teens is what we call the Boot Camp which can either be private or a state operated camp. The difference between these two is that a private one only operates in a short periods of time. They try to treat the teen and get back to the right track in a short time possible that is why this camp is only for those teens with not complicated case. While a state operated camp are for those teens that requires correctional facility. Both the private and state operated camp is comparable to military training.

Other than the school mentioned above, you can also send your child to a wilderness camp. These camps are intended to help the teen in teaching how to handle responsibilities especially with their actions. The camp also teaches the teen some survival techniques and communication and relationship skills. It will also teach them on how to talk to other people and on how to have a good relationship with them and how to survive some obstacles in life.

A troubled teen’s condition varies from one case to another that is why type of treatment do varies also. From the presented alternatives you can still other places where you can put your child, to treat the situation and to put back the life of the patient on the right track. Furthermore, treatment depends on the condition of the child and how long the teen have been that way and what things the child is doing. But still whatever the condition is, early treatment is essential before it’s already too late.

Recent reports are giving out data that highlights another negative effect of smoking to those who regularly indulge on it, as well as to the people with them who are likely to sniff the smoke that smokers puff out.

Based on the report from the Journal of the American Medical Association, smokers have a 70 percent greater chances of having hearing loss. The study on this needs more back-up research and data, but generally, the idea behind this claim is that smoking constricts the blood vessels that supply the ear.

The study involved 3,753 people ages 48 to 92, of whom 45% reported some hearing loss as established by questionnaires and standard hearing tests.

Exact causes of impulse control disorders are unknown, but may be linked to genetics, family environment, and/or neurological factors. Some research suggests that impulse control disorders are linked to certain hormones, abnormal nerve impulses, and variations in brain chemistry and function. Children and adolescents who have had a severe head injury and who have epilepsy may be at greater risk of developing these disorders. In children and adolescents, impulse control disorders often occur along with other psychological conditions, such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Impulse control disorders are diagnosed by psychological and psychiatric evaluations, interviews with family members, teachers, and caregivers, and observation and interviews with the child or adolescent. Diagnosis is based on clinical criteria defined in the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, Text Revision C (DSM-IV-TR).

Sexual addiction, according to the medical community does not exist. It does not exist in a sense that it has no clear definition and that medical practitioners are not in complete agreement with one another on its symptoms and diagnostic criteria.

Common sense dictates that a person cannot be addicted to something if they have not tried or experienced it so i guess it is safe to say that, anyone and everyone who has tried or had an enjoyable sexual experience can be addicted to it.

The addiction is not in the act itself but on the chemicals, such as dopamine, that is released in our brain during the act.

Somehow they believe that skinny is pretty, or somehow they just want to avoid being teased at school. That’s why some of them resort to diet pills.
